Born in Kosovo and Metohija into a devout family, I grew up and received my early education in my homeland. I completed primary school in Kosovo and later enrolled at the Seminary of Saints Cyril and Methodius in Prizren. I graduated from the Theological School of Saint Peter of Cetinje in Montenegro.
After the war, I was forced to leave my home and, as a refugee, arrived in Belgrade where I spent six years as a displaced person.
In 2005, I moved to London, United Kingdom. In 2008, I was married at the Church of Saint Sava in London and sought the blessing of my bishop of Britania and Scandinavian Dositej to be ordained.
By the grace of God and the blessing of the bishop Dositej, I was ordained on March 11, 2018, at the Church of Saint Sava in Ladbroke Grove, London.
Soon after, I received the blessing of Bishop Dositej to begin priestly service at the Church of Saint Sava in Ealing. With the help of faithful parishioners, benefactors, and kind-hearted people, our parish was renewed and began a new chapter of spiritual life.
With the arrival of His Grace Bishop Nektarie of London and the British-Irish Diocese, the blessings and my service continued. Our parish continues to grow — in prayer, in faith, and in love.
Spiritual message of Father Zlatko
Though we are born in a frail and mortal body, we are, even in this life, given a glimpse of eternity. Love for God is part of that eternity a grace not merely to imagine, but to experience.
That love, which can only be recognized in the stillness of prayer, is a divine gift one we preserve faithfully within our Church and strive to share with all.
The Church is not merely a building of stone — it is a temple of eternity within time. And when a person enters that temple, they are no longer strangers in the world, but children of God in their Father’s house.
The Parish of Saint Sava in London is not just a spiritual haven for Serbs throughout the UK — it is a living testimony of a faith that transcends borders, languages, and generations.
Whoever steps into its embrace will feel the warmth of fellowship, the power of prayer, and the peace that surpasses understanding. Every Liturgy, every encounter, every candle lit in the quiet of the church bears witness that the Church is alive and that Christ lives in us.
We strive to let our words and deeds be filled with love because only through love can we be true disciples of Christ in a world that thirsts for hope.
May this holy temple be the open heart of our people a sacred meeting place of man and God. All are welcome: to give thanks together, to pray, to love, and to grow in the Lord.
